Rhythm Exercises & Warm-Ups

0 Enrolled No ratings yet All Levels

It is vitally important to warm up the hands, wrists and fingers before playing through pieces of music… and that’s on top of full-body stretches, too! There are many ways of doing this, but the Table Of Time is a great place to start. There are many approaches to the Table Of Time and in this series Ian will share his ideas and approach. Ian also introduces the concept of cross-rhythm, which builds a fundamental understanding of polyrhythm. In fact, taiko music often uses cross-rhythm, even at an elementary level, and so these lessons will help you understand the underlying principles at work.
