About Course

Comprising three individual lines, plus scope for adding narimono, Kazan presents a number of musical and technical challenges for the intermediate taiko ensemble. It is a high-energy piece that incorporates syncopation, solo improvisation and interlocking rhythmic patterns.

Claudia takes you through the themes, phrase by phrase, as well as the ji-uchi, giving many opportunities for you to play along as you progress through the module. While there is scope for making your own arrangement of Kazan, a downloadable full score is also available.

Arrangement & Performance
• Ryuji and Sophia join Claudia to perform a short arrangement of Kazan • Play along to each part
